Foothill College's renowned Music Technology (MTEC) program recently organized a number of recording sessions that utilized state-of-the-art microphones from ADK. The artists ranged from pop to rock to hip hop, offering MTEC student audio engineers the opportunity to develop their technical abilities while highlighting the outstanding quality of ADK's microphones. The diverse range of musical styles presented unique challenges that would put ADK's microphones to the test, proving their versatility across various instruments and genres.

The Music Technology program at Foothill College has long been known for its commitment to nurturing the next generation of audio engineers, music producers, sound designers and industry professionals. The MTEC program was started in 1973, making it one of the oldest programs of its kind. Led by a team of experienced faculty and supported by world-class facilities, the program has consistently provided its students with hands-on experience and exposure to cutting-edge recording technologies.

The recording sessions took place at the college's state-of-the-art recording studio featuring high-end microphone preamps from Grace, Millenia, BAE, and API.  This created an ideal setting for the student engineers to experiment with different mic and preamp combinations, which in turn allowed the ADK microphones to shine in capturing every nuance of the performances.

Under their supervision of MTEC faculty, the students handled microphone placement, gain staging, and signal processing, learning the importance of attention to detail and precise techniques in the recording process. Faculty and students alike were impressed with the performance of the ADK microphones. The microphones exhibited an astonishing ability to handle a wide dynamic range while maintaining clarity and capturing expressive dynamics accurately. From the crisp highs of cymbals to the rich warmth of the bass and the nuanced tonality of vocals, the ADK microphones proved to be a valuable asset in the studio.
