CAPSULE TECHNOLOGY

Most Classic Tube Microphones use bright capsules and use EQ Circuitry to “De-tune” them.  This gives a desired tone but at the cost of noisy artifacts and anemic dynamics! Straight-Wire Theory says the less circuitry I have between source and archival, the cleaner, more phase coherent (Honest) tracks are. ADK Custom Shop and 3 Zigma spent five years fine-tuning capsules so that little or no EQ is needed to achieve the sonic tone-color. Using advanced Aerospace engineering we created mics to emulate the tone of the top five of the most prized vintage microphones, with a much greater dynamic range and exponentially lower self-noise than a high dollar classic mic.

ONLY THE BEST TUBES AND TRANSFORMERS

After creating the ideal Capsules, Hundreds of tests were conducted on tubes and transformers to come up with the best matches for each capsule. By consulting with such golden-ears (or bat-ears as we think of them) such as Chuck Ainlay and Michael Shipley, Mick Conley, and Ronnie Brookshire, we were able to find the optimal signal path for each of the five fine-tuned capsules.
