As a spinoff of ADK microphones, 3 Zigma microphones benefit from the capsule technologies ADK has developed over the last 10 years.
The capsules were designed to emulate the tonal "DNA" of the 5 classic vintage microphones. The AKG C 12, Neumann U47, U67, M49 and the coveted Telefunken ELA M 251.
The tonality is built “into” the capsule. We do not rely on electronic filters or circuit tricks in the microphone circuitry to get the “sound”.
The sound is in the capsule. 3 Zigma installed these capsules into an easily swappable Lollipop coupled with our 2 Head Amps
TL | Ultra-Low-Noise Transformer-less design offers a straightforward signal path to render precise sonic-imaging.
FX | Ultra-High-SPL Transformer-Coupled Design with only a hint of texture/color. Two-Way High pass filter and pad switch for flexibility. Like the TL, the FX Head-Amp has astonishingly low noise, equally precise sonic-imaging.

Tonal Color wheel | The tone color can be infinitely mixed and matched with the source audio, mic placement, tube/solid-state mic preamps, and even the style of music. All of which will determine which tonal paintbrush you want to use
CLOL 12 | Brightest of our capsules. Smooth response throughout frequency range especially the Hi Mids up through the Highs. Cuts through in a mix. Solid Fundamental Lows.
CLOL 251 | Unique tonality. Considered our 2nd brightest mic. Described as silky with an Air band boost. Smooth Mid Response and a full low end.
CLOL 47 | Very Smooth highs but with a bit of attitude. Less presence with an open sounding top end. Rich Tight Lows. More natural tonality than the CLOL-12.
CLOL 67 | Early 60’s Vintage mic vibe. Beautiful tonal color. Just the right amount of scoop in the nasal/ sibilance range. Slightly more presence than the CLOL-47 but less top end. Nicely balanced lows/Low Mids
CLOL 49 | 1950’s Classic mic vibe. Slightly dark but clear Hi- Freq. Full clear Mids with a round low end.
SD C Cardioid capsule | Cardioid pattern with a nice, flat frequency response for a true and neutral sound.
A very typical SD capsule, probably the one you'll use most often. Straight cardioids pattern with nice, flat frequency response with only minimal treble peak, giving a very true and neutral sound with just enough reach and directionality for most jobs. The proximity effect is totally predictable. Voiced between the darker KM-84 and the bright Schoeps CMC6
SD H Hyper Cardioid Capsule | A more directional version of the Cardioid capsule, with more proximity effect. The treble response is still very realistic and to some people, will actually sound more "real" than the cardioid.
SD O Omni | two types
